Chartered Surveyor

Curriculum Vitae

I have been now undertaking Residential Surveys & Valuations on all types of dwellings for over 30 years. I am one of the few Valuation Surveyors in the Country that can readily justify being regarded as a specialist in the field of Historic Building Conservation, in accordance with the requirements of the RICS Red Book. I am a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (www.ihbc.org.uk) and am a member of the SPAB (The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings – www.spab.org.uk) The Yorkshire Buildings Vernacular Study Group (www.yvbsg.org.uk), and National Trust, and the RICS Building Conservation Forum. I have a Diploma in Building Conservation (RICS).

My knowledge of traditional building and repair techniques has developed significantly in the last 10 years to the extent that I have acted as Consultant to the Conservation Departments of Local Authorities and offer specialist independent advice on repairs to Listed Buildings and other traditional buildings, including diagnostic reports on damp issues, windows, etc and through Building Surveys, Home Buyers Reports and Valuations for lenders. As a Consultant to Chancellors Associates Chartered Surveyors (www.chancellorsassociates.co.uk), I am on the Valuation Panel of a large number of major lenders. I also hold the City & Guilds 7277 Crime Prevention (Unit 3.1) Certificate – Domestic Security Surveys and am accredited to undertake Energy (SAP) Reports through Elmhurst.
